Cape Fear Museum awarded GE Foundation Grant

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A $19,134 grant awarded to the Cape Fear Museum from GE will allow for renovations and additions designed to encourage hands-on learning environment for families.

According to a news release, the GE Foundation aims to empower people to develop skills to succeed in a global economy. It is the main philanthropic organization within GE.

"We are grateful to GE for its committed partnership and are excited and eager to utilize their expertise in advancing STEM education in our community," said Museum Director Sheryl Mays.

The museum will renovate a former retail space that will become an area dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
