WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Some UNCW students said they would agree with the university restricting hoverboards on campus.

Noah Holcomb, student, said he often sees students riding them indoors.

“I think they’re fine as long as they’re not in the buildings,” Holcomb said. “I’ve really not seen any outside of Fisher. I’ll walk in and see people flying down the halls and that’s kind of weird.”

Samantha Clark, student, said she thinks a hoverboard ban on campus is reasonable.

“I find that to be very fair considering it’s for all students and their safety,” Clark said. “They seem to be kind of a hazard for some people with being distracting, and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend getting one.”

At least 20 universities in the U.S. have already banned or restricted hoverboards.
