WILMINGTON, North Carolina – After an impressive finish to the regular season, the UNCW women's soccer team begins its run at the school's second Colonial Athletic Association championship by hosting Delaware in a quarterfinal game at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m.
Tickets for the game are $7 for adults and $2 for youth ages 3-15. In addition, UNCW and Delaware students, along with UNCW faculty and staff, may receive complimentary admission to the game by presenting a valid school ID card.
The Seahawks, who boast a 13-5-1 overall record, earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament after compiling a 6-2-1 conference mark. UNCW ended the regular season with three consecutive shutout victories, including a 4-0 win over College of Charleston on Sunday.
Delaware enters the CAA Tournament with the sixth seed following a 1-0 victory over defending CAA champion Northeastern on Sunday. The Blue Hens carry an 8-8-2 overall record and a 3-4-2 mark in CAA play into the conference tourney.
UNCW and Delaware battled to a 2-2 double overtime tie in the only regular season meeting on Sept. 27 at UNCW Soccer Stadium. The Blue Hens lead the all-time series by a slim 8-6-2 margin.
The winner of Sunday's game advances to the CAA Semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6, to face second-seeded William & Mary.
