What kind of services and programs do you offer for heroin users?
Trillium Health Resources is responsible for managing state and federally funded services for people who receive Medicaid, are uninsured or cannot afford services. While, we do not provide a direct service, we contract with a network of private providers that deliver treatment and services to individuals living with mental illness, developmental or intellectual disabilities and substance use and addiction needs. Anyone seeking help can call our toll free Access to Care line 24 hours a day at 1-877-685-2415. During the call, a trained staff member will assist the individual by completing a brief assessment that will help identify the most appropriate treatment for their needs and, if appropriate, help them choose a provider that can offer additional services and supports.
Do you provide detox?
Trillium Health Resources does not provide direct services. We contract with private providers who offer DETOX services for individuals who wish to address their substance use and addiction needs. We currently contract with private providers in Wilmington, Ahoskie, Greenville, New Bern, and Washington who offer DETOX services.
Do I have to stay on site or can I commute from home?
Detox treatment may vary depending on the diagnosis. During the initial appointment, the private provider will complete an in-depth assessment that will help the provider and the individual determine the most appropriate course of treatment that will aid them in reaching their treatment goals.

The duration of DETOX treatment varies. During the initial appointment, the private provider will complete a more in-depth assessment that will help the provider and the individual determine the length of treatment that will aid them in reaching their treatment goals.
What will it cost?
Trillium Health Resources cares about the individuals living in our 24 county coverage area. To ensure they have access to the right service at the right time, we do not charge a fee for calling our Access to Care line at 1-877-685-2415. While the out of pocket cost for DETOX services average $325 per day, we contract with a diverse network of providers that accept private insurance and Medicaid. If an individual is uninsured or cannot afford treatment, we will work with the provider to incorporate a sliding scale fee based on the individual's unique circumstances. This is our way of ensuring treatment is available and affordable. Once the individual attends their initial appointment with the private provider, they will discuss treatment options, applicable fees, if any, and acceptable payer sources.
Do you take insurance?
While Trillium Health Resources does not provide a direct service, we contract with over 480 private providers across 24 counties in eastern North Carolina that accept various private insurances, Medicaid and utilize a sliding scale fee for treatment and services for mental illness, developmental or intellectual disabilities and substance use and addiction needs.
What kind of success rate does your program have?
While Trillium Health Resources does not provide a direct service, our network of providers have proven successes in various areas including crisis response, evidence-based practice model implementation, prevention and outreach, care integration and consumer-directed supports.
What kind of support is offered after I complete your program?
Once an individual has completed their treatment regimen they will discuss available aftercare options with their private provider. This step in the treatment process will help ensure each individual's unique needs are met helping them become productive citizens in their community. To offer additional support to individuals exiting a substance use and addiction DETOX program, Trillium Health Resources created 3 Oxford Houses in eastern North Carolina this past year and plans to expand by adding 20 additional Oxford Houses by 2020. Oxford Houses are a clean and sober housing option for individuals in recovery.
Where are you located?
Trillium's network of providers has practice sites throughout our 24-county area. We are committed to ensuring services are available for citizens within 30-45 minutes or 30-45 miles of where they live, work or go to school. What will I need to bring with me?
The private provider will tell the individual what they need to bring to their first appointment. It's always helpful to have a valid form of identification and proof of medical coverage, if applicable, when attending any appointment.
What kind of confidentiality do you offer guests?
Trillium Health Resources believes in protecting the privacy of individuals receiving treatment. Trillium and our network of providers adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The Code of Federal Regulations offers additional privacy protection guarantees for individuals with substance use and addiction needs giving them added piece of mind.
Do you offer a crisis hotline? What's the phone number?
Trillium Health Resources understands that crises do occur and having someone readily available is very important. We contract with Mobile Crisis Teams to meet people where they are when they experience a crisis. Individuals living in Brunswick, Carteret, Craven, Jones, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico or Pender counties can call 1-855-345-1200 24 hours a day to speak to a mobile crisis team. Individuals living in Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, Hertford, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell or Washington counties can call 1-866-437-1821 24 hours a day to speak to a mobile crisis team.
