1 arrested for Waffle House armed robbery on Labor Day

Wilmington police have arrested one man in connection to an armed robbery that happened at the Carolina Beach Road Waffle House on Labor Day.

Officials say Quashon Antonio Nixon, 22, was arrested on Sept. 14 and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of heroin. He was booked in the New Hanover County Jail under a $155,000 bond.

According to Wilmington Police Department spokesperson Linda Rawley, just after midnight on Sept. 7, two men armed with handguns went into the restaurant in the 2400 block of Carolina Beach Road and demanded everyone turn off their cell phones. One of the men then took money from the cash register.

The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and ran west out of the business.  

No injuries were reported.
