Carl Edwards led the way when it mattered most.
Edwards, who hadn't won in 31 races, moved to the front of the pack with 20 laps remaining to win the Coca Cola 600 Sunday night at Lowes Motor Speedway.
The win was the first for Edwards since joining Joe Gibbs Racing, and first in 31 races.
Edwards' win came with a late-race gamble. With the majority of the race leaders making green-flag pit stops, Edwards remained on the track and had little trouble cruising to the win.
Greg Biffle was second, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., pole-sitter Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr., who had his 11th top-10 finish in 12 events this season.
