Buies Creek (Campbell) - Rain delayed the start of UNCW's visit to Campbell, and it poured runs early for the Camels but a balanced offensive attack led the Seahawks to a 9-4 come from behind win in Buies Creek Wednesday night.
Sparked by Casey Golden's three-hit night, UNCW (30-12) split the season series with Campbell who fell for the eighth-straight time.
Down 3-0 heading into the third, UNCW scored runs in the third, fourth, fifth, eighth and ninth innings. Nick Feight made it a 3-2 game in the third with a sacrifice fly and Zach Shields tied it with a RBI double one batter later. In the fourth, UNCW took the lead for good on RBI triple by Golden.
After a shaky start, UNCW's bullpen allowed just one run over eight-and-a-third innings of work. The Seahawk staff also held the Camels to 2-for-11 hitting with runners in scoring position.
Justin Crump (1-1) earned the win.
The Seahawks host Delaware in a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series beginning on Friday at Brooks Field.
