UNCW's Mallory Warrick earns CAA Golfer of the Week honors

Richmond, Virginia - Senior Mallory Warrick (Fike H.S./Wilson, N.C.) of the UNCW women's golf team has been named as the recipient of the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week award for the week ending Apr. 13, it has been announced by CAA officials.

It is the first time Warrick has been named as the CAA Golfer of the Week in her career. She is the second different UNCW golfer to earn the honor after junior Annette Lyche (Baerum, Norway) earned the distinction on Oct. 1 and Mar. 18.

Warrick posted a career-best finish last weekend at the River Landing Classic by claiming second place with a three-round total of 220 (+4). She posted a season-best score of 71 in the opening round of the tournament on Saturday before carding scores of 75 and 74 to complete the tournament.

After earning the second top-5 finish of her college career, Warrick has played in all eight tournaments this year for the Seahawks with a 79.25 scoring average.

Led by Warrick, the Seahawks will compete at the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship this weekend at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.
