BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP joined the family of a Bladenboro teen found hanging from a swing set last year, to release what they called "new details" in the case.
The new information is scant though, as the FBI continues to search for someone who may know what happened to Lennon Lacy the night of August 29, 2014.
It's a case that has drawn national attention. ESPN is the latest media source to cover the story. Their documentary was the subject of Wednesday night's mass community meeting at the First Baptist Church in Bladenboro. The attorneys for the Lacy family picked apart the story showing that after months of investigating, closure for the Lacy family is still out of reach.
The attorneys did announce that a reward fund had been created for people to donate to, in turn rewarding individuals who come forward with valuable information that could help investigators close this case.
The state chapter of the NAACP plans to hold another meeting in April, hoping to have more solid information about where the case stands.
