WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -
Agents with New Hanover County Sheriff's Office Vice & Narcotics and the State Bureau of Investigation have arrested a woman in connection to a meth lab in the Monkey Junction area.
Citizen complaints led authorities to investigate a home in the Grove Park Mobile Park Estates located in the 5000 block of Carolina Beach Road Thursday.
According to Lt. Jerry Brewer with the NHC Sheriff's Office, authorities found a canvass shed behind the mobile home and located Michelle Lynn Stricker-Chenoweth in the process of making meth.
Authorities called in the SBI's Clandestine Laboratory Response Team to process the scene. The SBI agents arrived and removed hazardous chemicals from the property.
Brewer says Michelle Lynn Stricker-Chenoweth was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine in connection to the incident. She was given an initial bond of $3,000 which she posted and was released around 10:20 p.m. Thursday.
Stricker-Chenoweth made her first court appearance Friday afternoon and was served additional warrants for possession of meth, possession of a precursor, and possession of pseudoephedrine. Her bond was set at $300,000.
Stricker-Chenoweth's next court appearance will be Monday, March 9.
In November 2014, Stricker-Chenoweth was arrested after officers found meth, plastic bags, a crack pipe and a needle in her purse during a traffic stop.
