COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A Whiteville woman is facing multiple drug-related charges after authorities arrested her Tuesday for selling oxycodone tablets.
According to officials, the Vice-Narcotics Unit of the Columbus County Sheriff's Office began investigating citizen complaints about the distribution of controlled substances throughout several areas in the county.
At the completion of their investigation, detectives arrested 63-year-old Flossie Lee Banks of Whiteville. Authorities say Banks sold undercover detectives hundreds of oxycodone tablets. Banks was charged with six counts of trafficking opium or heroin and two counts of maintaining a dwelling to keep or sell a controlled substance.
Authorities say Banks was responsible for distributing oxycodone throughout the communities of Welches Creek, Farmer's Union, Whiteville, and areas around Clarkton in Bladen County.
Banks was taken to the Columbus County Detention Center.
