WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Into this weekend: a broad ridge of high pressure will preserve dry weather with warm days and cool nights. A deep trough of low pressure will promote rain chances and falling temperatures next week.

FRIDAY FORECAST DETAILS: Enjoy sunshine and blue skies once again! Humidity should stay reasonably low amid light north or northeast breezes. Expect afternoon highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

WEEKEND FORECAST DETAILS: Daytime temperatures will crest in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Nights will feature 60s to, at the lowest, 50s. Also enjoy sun with rain chances near 0% Saturday and near 10% Sunday.

A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: Monday and Tuesday will have variable clouds and gusty shower chances of 30% and 50%, respectively. Warm breezes will flow Monday but, by midweek, cooler winds will cut highs to the 60s. 

TROPICS: New tropical storm development is not likely in the Atlantic Basin Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Should another tropical storm form at some point, it'd get the name "Philippe".
