WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A Canadian-born high pressure cell will deliver dry and colder-than-average weather Thursday into Friday morning. First temperatures, and then rain chances, will climb later in the forecast period.

THURSDAY FORECAST DETAILS: Nippy northeast breezes of mainly 10 to 20 mph will hold highs to the mid to upper 50s. Sunshine will look good, though, and with the high March sun angle, your car will warm fast!

FRIDAY FORECAST DETAILS: Expect frosty 30s and 40s for the early hours but, despite that humbling start, the spring sun and a developing light south breeze should bring afternoon readings deep into the 60s.

LONG-RANGE FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Saturday through Tuesday are likely to have temperatures in the 60s and 70s with frost-free nights in between. A 30% chance for a shower or storm will develop Sunday into Tuesday.
