Teenager injured during Henry Street shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon on Henry Street that left a teenager injured. 

The shooting happened around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in the 400 block of Henry Street, which is located off of Princess Place Drive.

According to officials, police were in the area on a suspicious person call when officers heard multiple gun shots. A ShotSpotter alert came in shortly afterwards. Eyewitnesses saw several people fleeing from the scene.

Officials say a 15-year-old male was injured in the shooting, but his injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Police say two buildings were damaged in the shooting.

Authorities haven't released any info on a possible suspect or motive. If you have any information, please contact the Wilmington Police Department at (910)343-3600.

On Sunday night, officers learned a victim had been shot and was taken to the hospital. Officers were also told that the suspect was in the doorway of the residence when the victim was shot. 

It is unclear if the two shootings are connected.
