ARRESTED: K9 officer finds meth in passenger's purse during traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Police arrested a woman after finding drugs in her purse during a traffic stop on Wooster Street Saturday.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers pulled over Phillip Wayne Morse, 22, of Wilmington for driving on a suspended license.

During the stop, officers observed Morse and his passenger identified as Michelle Lynn Strickler-Chenoweth, 52, and decided to have K9 officers sniff the vehicle.

During the search, officers found some meth, plastic bags, a crack pipe and a needle in Strickler-Chenoweth's purse.

Officers arrested Strickler-Chenoweth and charged her with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Morse was cited for driving with a suspended license.
