CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) - It's back to the drawing board for Carolina Beach leaders after they withdrew their proposal for the north end boardwalk extension.
Members of the Coastal Resources Commission told the council Wednesday about concerns they had with how the addition would impact residents living nearby.
Mayor Wilcox said the town will review and revise the proposal before submitting it the CRC in the future.
"We're disappointed. We would have liked to see it go through. We think it's a great project for the community on an overall basis," said Wilcox. "We've been trying to address the citizen's concerns -- the people in opposition. We certainly care about their comments and concerns. We have to look at projects from the perspective of what is in the overall best interest of the community."
