WILMINGTON, North Carolina – A mid-week ice cream social for students, appearances by popular mascot Sammy C. Hawk and a special student event at campus dining facility Wagoner Hall signal the arrival of Midnite Madness on Friday, Oct. 17, at Trask Coliseum.

The annual event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 9 p.m. A full slate of games and activities start at 9:30 p.m., with the night capped off by a Fan Jam sponsored by the Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE) and Campus Dining on the lawn of Hoggard Hall.

An ice cream social for students, along with “Cash Cab,” kick off the week on Wednesday, Oct. 15, as the men's soccer and volleyball teams play home conference games that night.

The schedule continues Thursday, Oct. 16, with a student event at Wagoner Hall and volleyball game vs. CAA rival Delaware at Hanover Hall.

Friday's festivities start with a women's soccer game at 7 p.m. against Northeastern. It continues with the annual Trask Trek at 9 p.m. when students and members of both teams meet at the Seahawk Village Clubhouse and complete the traditional walk together to Trask Coliseum.

A number of events take place at the actual “Midnite Madness” affair on the floor of Trask Coliseum until 11 p.m., including performances by the UNCW Dance Team, dance group Physical Graffiti, UNCW Pep Band, and UNCW Cheerleaders. Several student contests will also be held before the men's and women's basketball teams are introduced, followed by a three-point shooting contest and slam dunk contest by the teams.

After Midnite Madness, ACE and Campus Dining will stage a “Fan Jam” on the lawn of Hoggard Hall, featuring inflatables, a mechanical bull and carnival games.
