CASTING CALL: Extras needed for upcoming scenes in 'The Choice'

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Marty Siu Casting is looking for extras in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks film production, The Choice.

According to the casting agent's Facebook page, people will be needed to fill background positions Monday, Oct. 13. Extras must be local to the area to avoid traffic issues.

They are specifically looking for:

  • Boat Party People - 20s-30s and must be comfortable in a bathing suit
  • Dockside Customers - mostly adults, a few children will be permitted to work

No visible tattoos permitted and no cameras will be allowed on set.

The pay rate is $64 for up to eight hours and time an a half after that. Always plan on about a 12-hour day on set.

According to film permits, scenes will revolve around characters celebrating at a local bar and discussing their relationships.

Filming will take place at The Dockside Restaurant & Bar and the Bridge Tender Marina, both off Airlie Road.

Sparks has filmed several of his novel-turned-movies in Wilmington, including The Longest Ride, which will be released next year and Safe Haven, which was shot in 2012. In 2001, A Walk to Remember used Southport as its location.
