NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A murder suspect in jail is now facing an additional charge after allegedly throwing urine onto a guard.
According to Sgt. Brewer with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, officers were putting an orange top on 19-year-old Shelby Lentz as part of a status change to the disciplinary unit when he threw urine on one of the guards.
Lentz is now charged with felony malicious conduct by a prisoner on top of charges stemming from an incident earlier this year.
In January, Lentz was charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Martin Yakimovich. In a jailhouse interview, Lentz said a fight happened the night of the incident due to a "love triangle" between Lentz, Yakimovich and a woman.
