BLADENBORO, NC (WECT) -

The North Carolina NAACP held a community meeting and memorial service for Lennon Lacy Monday night.

Lacy was found dead at a playground in Bladenboro on August 29. The family asked the NC NAACP to help investigate the 17-year-old's death.

The president of the state NAACP, William Barber, spoke at First Baptist Church in Bladenboro among a crowd of about two hundred people.

Barber asked the community to bring forth tips and information in the investigation.

The NAACP attorney's brought up several points they believe were not fully investigated by authorities, including scratches on his face that his family discovered on him the day before his death.

NAACP leaders said they do believe the authorities are working hard but want to make sure every detail is explored in the case.

Reverend Barber explained he met with District Attorney Jon David and he promised the community a full and thorough investigation.
