First Alert Forecast: weekend trend is a bit brighter

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Fall's first days have been generous with cool temperatures but quite stingy on sunshine. A building high pressure system should help change those factors this weekend.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Expect many clouds (few lucky sun intervals possible), north winds around 10mph, and afternoon highs mainly in the mid 70s. Shower or drizzle chance: 20 to 30%.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Aside from a stray shower possibility, expect variable clouds, continued light north breezes, and temperatures cooling from the 70s early into the 60s late.

WEEKEND: Enjoy clouds and sun intervals, low rain chances, light breezes, daytime highs in the upper 70s (a few lower 80s possible), and nighttime lows in the 60s. Decent deal for fall's first weekend!

TROPICS: New tropical storm development is not likely in the Atlantic Basin (including the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, or Atlantic Ocean itself) Friday.
