WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A group of 19, comprised of university and Wilmington leaders, has been named to find the next chancellor of UNC Wilmington.

The search committee includes UNCW faculty, staff and students, members from volunteer boards, alumni, the Wilmington community, and Board of Trustees members.

UNC School System President Thomas Ross will come to UNCW Oct. 2 to formally charge the committee with the search of the next Chancellor.

The 19 member search committee is:

Faculty, staff, & students:

  • Gabriel Lugo: Faculty Senate President and Associate Professor, Mathematics and Statistics
  • Tom Barth: Professor, Public and International Affairs
  • Paula Reid: Associate Professor, Nursing
  • Woody Hall: Professor, Economics
  • Kathy Roney: Professor, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, Literacy and Special Education
  • Tobi Polland: Board of Trustees member; SGA President; rising senior
  • Terry Ismert: Staff Senate Chair; Adult Nurse Practitioner, UNCW Student Health Center
