BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

Family and friends remembered 17-year-old Lennon Lacy at a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening.

The community still has questions after the West Bladen football player was found dead on a playground near his home.

For Pierre Lacy, he is at peace knowing his brother knew he loved him.

"The last thing I was able to tell him was that I loved him," Lacy said. "He knew."

His teammates are still looking for answers.

"We need closure," said his teammate and friend, NaShawn.

According to friends, Lennon leaves behind a legacy of respect and hard work, always pushing himself harder to work toward his future.

"He made me proud to be his mom," said his mom Claudia.
