WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

The lone surviving suspect of the infamous Pizza Hut robbery/shooting incident is on the trial calendar for Tuesday morning in New Hanover County Superior Court.

Jalani Smith is charged with multiple counts of first-degree kidnapping and common law robbery.

Smith, along with Tevin Robinson and Ronald Roland held four Pizza Hut employees at gunpoint in October, 2013 while they robbed the store on S. 17th Street. Warrants say the trio took $100 and two cell phones from the victims.

Later, the SBI was called to investigate the incident after both Robinson and Roland were shot and killed by police.

According to District Attorney Ben David, Smith is expected to go before Judge Gorham on Tuesday, September, 2. If convicted, he could face more than 10 years in prison.
