KENT, OH (WOIO) -

The Portage County coroner says the autopsy on Kent State University football player Jason Bitsko has been completed, but a cause of death will not be determined for several weeks.

The coroner says it does appear to be natural.

KSU football players will wear #54 on their helmets during the upcoming season to honor the center, who was found dead in his off-campus apartment on Wednesday morning. The Golden Flashes will open the season at home in eight days.

The university is providing counseling services and support to all student-athletes and staff members within university athletics as they deal with this loss. Counseling is always available by contacting Psychological Services at the DeWeese Health Center at 330-672-2487. Counseling and support are also available through the Counseling and Human Development Center in White Hall and the Psychological Clinic in Kent Hall.

Those paying tribute via social media are asked to use #KSUJason54.

Jason's parents, Randy and Pam Bitsko, are asking that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Jason Bitsko Memorial Fund to support the Kent State University Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Checks should include "Jason Bitsko Memorial Fund" in the memo line and be mailed to the Coalition for Christian Outreach, 5912 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
