WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

University of North Carolina at Wilmington officials have released surveillance video of three people they say stole the Seahawk statue outside the Warwick Center in July.

According to officials, the footage shows three young men, between 18-22 years of age, forcibly removing the bronze statue, valued at $70,000.

The statue was discovered missing on the morning of Saturday, July 5.

Crime Stoppers of the Cape Fear is offering a reward for substantive information leading to the recovery of the missing statue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the UNCW Police Department at 910-962-2222 or Crime Stoppers of the Cape Fear at 800-531-9845. 

The statue was dedicated in 2000 and is a well-known fixture on campus.
