WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington's Solomon Harvey will not be NBC's next "American Ninja Warrior" after failing to scale the warped wall in Las Vegas.

Harvey is a chef at Carolina Ale House in Wilmington and earned his way to the final of American Ninja Warrior after completing the course in Miami, FL. The show lovingly used #NINJACHEF to promote him.

The intense obstacle course was filmed earlier this summer, but aired Monday on NBC.
Harvey said he was most worried about the jumping spider obstacle, that knocked 11 other competitors out that night.

In the end it was the warped wall that Harvey just couldn't seem to get over, but he says next year will be different.

"The support and love and everything I've received from Wilmington, the port city, has been absolutely amazing," Harvey said. "They're giving me the drive and the hunger to do even better next year. And, When I win American Ninja Warrior, it is definitely for Wilmington and everyone who's done so much to support me."

Some of that support comes from a local Cross Fit company who has agreed to build Solomon an American Ninja Warrior Training facility to help him do even better next year.
