A DWI checkpoint on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway resulted in nearly 100 charges on Friday night into Saturday morning.
The WPD Traffic Unit were assisted by officers from several different agencies throughout southeastern, North Carolina, including:
Onslow County SO
New Hanover County SO
Brunswick County SO
Carolina Beach PD
According to a press release from the WPD, the checkpoint resulted in a total of 92 charges, including:
1 vehicle seized from a repeat DWI offender
16 Driving with a Revoked License
5 No Driver License
25 Expired Registration
6 Possess Marijuana
3 Possess Drug Paraphernalia
2 Felony Drug Charges
1 Speed greater than 100mph
23 other charges
