Wilmington U.S. Marshals arrest man wanted from Virginia

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WECT) -

U.S. Marshals in Wilmington arrested a man Wednesday night who was wanted by the Harrisonburg Police Department in Virginia for rape incident that happened August 1.

According to officials, the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force found Jairo Alejandro at Carroll Mobile Home Park in Castle Hayne and arrested him.

Alejandro was charged with rape, abduction, forcible sodomy and vehicle theft stemming from an incident that happened August 1.

He is being held in the New Hanover County Jail pending extradition to Virginia.

Officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department arrested and charged Angel Guibo Machado August 1 in connection to the same incident.

While the arrests of the suspects are complete, HPD continues to investigate this incident and requests that anyone with information pertaining to the case contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (540) 437-2640.
