Mike Jacobus drove thousands of miles from Illinois when he got a call from his daughter that her apartment had been flooded.

"I'm just thinking, put some towels down behind the door, not knowing how serious it was," said Jacobus, "then she showed me the video. We dropped everything."

About six inches of water filled his daughter, Roxy's, home. The carpet and flooring is destroyed but the biggest loss for the family, are personal belongings, like books with letters from family members who are now deceased.

The Red Cross has helped Roxy and her children find a place to stay until the homes are repaired.
