The Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue Team finished in the top ten in a national competition in Virginia Beach.
The team finished 3rd in the small beach division, and in the top ten overall in the 2014 Nautica United States Lifesaving Association National Lifeguard Championships.
More than 1200 lifeguards from 64 beaches competed against each other.
The competition will be televised Sept. 15 on the Universal Sports Network at 8 p.m.
