FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Governor Robert Bentley was in Russellville this morning for a grand opening of a new home-building facility.
The governor joined state and local officials at 9 a.m. to open Southern Energy Homes' second plant.
Bentley announced this morning Southern Energy Homes is opening a second plant in Franklin County. The opening of the new home-building facility has already created 270 new jobs, and expects to add 70 more jobs by the year’s end.
Bentley, along with other state and local officials also toured the plant.
Senator Roger Bedford joined Bentley in welcoming Southern Energy Homes to Russellville.
The production facility in Russellville will produce SEhomes’ Southern Homes brand, built to the standards of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development code. The 176,000 square foot production facility will produce 1,500 homes annually, according to the office of Roger Bedford.
“The opening of Southern Energy Homes will provide a great opportunity for good-paying jobs for the people of Northwest Alabama”, said Bedford. “We are thankful for the expansion and continued investment in the area by Southern Energy Homes and look forward to putting more Northwest Alabama citizens to work.”
Clayton Homes acquired the SEhomes brand in 2006 and joins the family of 13 home brands under the CMH brands.
