Ribbon cutting, dedication held for new Coffee Bluff Marina

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

On Friday the new and improved Coffee Bluff Marina was dedicated and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held.

The marina has undergone a complete transformation, including  a new fishing pier, a children's playground and parking.

"This is an all inclusive marina and park that is just unbelievable," said Sixth District Alderman Tony Thomas. "There's nothing like it the state of Georgia, and nothing like it in Savannah. So this is unique. It's great for our area. Something great for our city."

The city bought the land in 2008 after the previous owner started moving forward with a residential development plan that would have limited public access to the Forest River.
