TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -
A pedestrian struck by a hit-and-run driver in Tempe on Thursday night has died, a Tempe police spokesman said Tuesday morning.
Tyler Jim Shepherd, 29, was crossing Scottsdale Road at mid-block near Weber Road about 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2007 metallic red or maroon Dodge Durango or Dodge Nitro, Tempe police Sgt. Steve Carbajal said.
The suspect vehicle slowed after hitting Shepherd, but then sped south on Scottsdale Road.
Carbajal said anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Tempe police at 480-350-8311 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377), or 480-TESTIGO (480-837-8446).
