An auxiliary officer with the Tabor City Police Department has resigned amid possible charges in South Carolina.
Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless said he accepted the resignation today of T.G. Lovett, who had been an auxiliary officer in the department for less than a month.
Following the resignation, Dowless said Lovett was arrested on charges in South Carolina.
According to the chief, Lovett described the charges as a "misunderstanding."
It is unclear the exact nature of the charges at this time.
