BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

Actor, director and political activist Danny Glover will be in Bladen County Wednesday morning to talk about the importance of the union, according to the UFCW Facebook page.

Glover will visit Mountaire poultry workers and union members from the Smithfield food processing plant around 11 a.m.

"It is an honor to have Mr. Danny Glover visit our union hall and have a discussion with the workers in Bladen and Robeson counties," said UFCW Local 1208 President Keith Ludlum in a news release. "Mr. Glover has a long history of supporting workers and their rights to form a union, including our work in 2008 to unionize Smithfield."

UFCW Local 1208 is now trying to organize a union with the Mountaire poultry workers.

Glover starred in several blockbuster and critically acclaimed movies throughout his ongoing career, including Lethal Weapon and The Color Purple.
