A man accused of impersonating a police officer has been arrested.

Police say 31-year-old Charles Thompson flashed blue lights and pulled over a driver on June 2 on Murfreesboro Pike and stole the driver's wallet.

A few days later, police say he stole an ATM card from another driver.

Thompson was arrested on Monday night, but not before he allegedly tried to escape and rammed a police car.

Thompson is facing two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of criminal impersonation of a law enforcement officer, theft and evading arrest.

Police say Thompson had some help from his wife, 28-year-old Sabrina Thompson. She was arrested last week and is accused of being his accomplice.
