Naked man arrested; charged with spitting blood at deputy

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A naked man was arrested and charged Saturday for reportedly spitting blood at a law enforcement officer.

According to Sgt. Augst with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a disturbance call shortly after noon Saturday in reference to a man wearing no clothes on Carolina Beach Road near Monkey Junction.

Deputies found Chase Bowes when they responded to the call. They say Bowes was heavily under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Augst said that Bowes also had a self-inflicted stab wound on his leg. Bowes was taken to the hospital where he treated and released.

Officials charged Bowes with indecent exposure, resisting/delaying/obstructing a public officer, and malicious conduct by a prisoner.
