Gun shot victim hit in leg; police still seeking suspect

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Friday night.

Lt. Lanier with WPD said the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. near 508 S. 14th Street.

Police found several shell casings and a vehicle that had been damaged from bullets in the area near 14th and Castle Streets but could not locate a victim.

According to Lanier, a man later arrived at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated and released.

Lanier says the victim has been uncooperative and police are still seeking more information about a potential suspect(s).
