A state-of-the-art facility meant to help Nashvillians get healthy is officially open.
The Lentz Public Health Center opened Wednesday morning.
The 100,000-square-foot facility is located at the corner of Charlotte Pike and 26th Avenue North.
The new health center was part of a land-swap deal with the Hospital Corporation of America.
The HCA built and paid for the $28 million facility. In exchange, it will take over the former Lentz building on 23rd Avenue.
The new facility is all about creating healthier lifestyles, complete with a walking track, demonstration kitchen to teach people how to make healthier meals.
The building is energy efficient and is on a main bus line, making it very accessible.
