UPDATE: Boil water advisory lifted for a portion of Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

The boil water advisory issued by the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Tuesday, for parts of Wilmington, has been lifted.

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority conducted a planned water service outage Tuesday.

The water outage and boil advisory affected all residents that live on:

  • 800-1100 block of Castle and Queen Streets
  • 600-700 blocks of South 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Streets
  • 800 block of South 10th Street.

A precautionary boil water advisory was issued because periods of low or no pressure increase the potential for the introduction of bacteria into the water system.
