COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A jury found Tarrence Hazel guilty of first degree murder. The teenager was accused of murder in the 2012 shooting death of a Columbus County man.

Hazel was also found guilty of robbery with a dangerous weapon according to the District Attorney's Office.

Based on the jury's decision Hazel was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Hazel is one of three teenagers accused of killing Keith Douglas Gachette on April 13, 2012.

Opening statements for Tarrence Shakil Hazel's trail began Thursday afternoon.

The crime took place in Gachette's home off Palmetto Bay Road near Hallsboro.

Earlier this year, a Columbus County jury found Gachette's nephew, Marquice Antone, guilty of killing his uncle. Antone was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

A third suspect, Kenneth Williams, pleaded guilty earlier this year.
