A former Northwest Police Officer charged with solicitation of a minor will finally appear before a jury starting Monday in Brunswick County.
Michael Hayes was initially scheduled to appear in court on July 21, but the trial was continued.
Hayes was arrested in May, 2013 for solicitation of a minor for prostitution and one count of filing a false report.
According to arrest reports, Hayes contacted a then 17-year-old girl on a craigslist.com advertisement for a sex act.
He then reportedly met the girl in Boiling Spring Lakes and exchanged $60 for the sex act.
Starting Monday, Hayes will stand before a jury in superior court.
