Longest running street art work has Irish premiere

Galway, Ireland (PRWEB) July 18, 2014

The first time on Irish soil, the RedBall takes over the infamous Spanish Arch in its Galway premier. With seven sites in seven days, the street art piece will have the run of the town, and meet a true Lucht féachana Éireannach. From the seaside to the high street, the work will pop in for a day in each location before moving on.

With Galway being the 19th city, Kurt Perschkes RedBall Project is arguably one of the longest continually running street art pieces in the world. Launched in 2001 the project has spanned the globe in its travels from Abu Dhabi to Paris, Perth to Taipei. All RedBall cities are available to view on the project's website at http://www.redballproject.com, where the full Galway performance site list is also now available. Exclusive videos from each day can be found on RedBall Projects Facebook page.

Of working in the public Perschke says, Its no longer enough to plant monuments outdoors and assume they will enter into public discourse. To truly work in public now means to engage public imagination - for an idea to move into the public consciousness. [artist forward in Oversize: Mega Art & Installations]
