WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded Monday evening to reports of a sexual assault on Plum Nearly Lane, located near Kerr Avenue behind Dicks Sporting Goods.

According to police, the victim and her friend said a man in a blue Mercury Navigator pulled up in the parking lot and called them over to the vehicle.

When the victim wouldn't go to the car, the man got out, approached her and grabbed her breast.

Police said two men from the pool area came to help the victim and the man left.

According to the WPD, the man returned to the parking lot when officers were talking with the victim. Officers told him to stop, but he cursed at police and kept driving. The man hit the back of a patrol vehicle then drove toward Varsity Drive.

Police said another officer stopped the man after driving through Wilshire Landing Apartments, but he refused to obey commands. A Taser was deployed and the man was taken into custody.

According to police, Oscar Ramirez Castro was arrested and charged with sexual battery, hit and run, failure to stop and resisting arrest.
