CHARGED: Marine accused of fatally shooting wife

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

An active Marine in Onslow County was arrested and charged in connection to killing his wife.

According to investigative reports, Christopher Michael Skaggs went into a rage Sunday morning, got his handgun and began shooting 31-year-old Jordan Skaggs.

Deputies, detectives and CSI were dispatched to a home on Cherry Blossom Lane around 9:45 a.m. to investigate reports of a shooting. Upon arrival they discovered Jordan Skaggs had died from apparent gunshot wounds to the chest.

Christopher Skaggs was charged with murder and was given no bond.

The sheriff's office said his gun has been confiscated for evidence, and this case is still under investigation.
