WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Two separate robberies were reported one minute apart early Saturday morning, according to New Hanover County communications.

Dispatchers said the first reported robbery call came in from the 1100 block of McCrae Street at 12:58 a.m. Then at 12:59 a.m. a second robbery was reported at Fourth and Red Cross.

Wilmington Police said the victim in the McCrae Street robbery reported a man came to him asking for a cigarette. The victim then told police the man hit him with something, took his money and ran away.

Just one minute later, a similar robbery was reported at the intersection of Fourth and Red Cross Streets. Dispatchers say the victim was assaulted in the face and robbed of $20 at the scene.
