COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A Columbus County man was found guilty in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Tabor City in 2011.

According to District Attorney Jon David, Albert Henry was convicted Thursday evening of second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Henry was sentenced to 12-16 years behind bars.

On the morning of June 15, 2011, police responded to the 200 block of Bay Street in Tabor City shortly before 11:00 in reference to a fight.

Officials say a fight between Henry and Chad Bellamy quickly escalated into a shooting, killing Bellamy.

Albert Henry, who was wanted in connection to the shooting, turned himself in to the Columbus County Sheriff's Office later that day.
