WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington Police Officers said they believe they have found the vehicle involved in a deadly hit and run Thursday night.

Police officials say Roy Ellwyn Moore, 68, was hit by an SUV in the 5200 block of Market Street, south of the Market Street and South College over change, around 9 p.m.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, Moore died after being taken to the hospital.

Officials said the suspected SUV was headed west on Market Street. The SUV was then seen driving towards Walmart after the accident.

Friday, detectives said they found the vehicle they believe hit Moore. They said they are still asking for the public's help in the investigation and are asking anyone who knows or saw anything to please come forward.

"We have recovered the vehicle we feel is the suspect vehicle and that's led us to some more leads we are still working on that," said Sgt. Mike Donelson. "Again if anyone has any information, if they saw it, if they saw the driver, please let us know we are working that [case] actively."

No arrests have been made.

This is the second fatality involving a pedestrian in the City of Wilmington this year.
