A New Hanover County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a head on collision in Wilmington Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. and involved two cars at the intersection of Eastwood Road and Rogersville Road.
According to officials, Deputy Timothy Caulder was on Eastwood Road trying to make a left-hand turn when he was struck head on by a white Nissan Passport driven by Wayne Thomas Blackburn.
Caulder and Blackburn were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Blackburn was charged with careless and reckless driving.
The scene has been cleared and traffic should now return to normal.
